Keyboard player, Dizzy Reed, was born on June 18, 1963 in Boulder, Colorado as Darren Reed. He most likely learned how to play piano at an early age due to the fact that his father is a famous pianist - Bob Reed. Dizzy came to Guns N' Roses in the spring of 1990, not to replace anyone, but just to develop and give the band a new, more "improved" sound. Dizzy isn't just a hired Gun, he's been a friend of the band for many years. The band discussed making Dizzy a member from the beginning when the band had just started. Dizzy had recorded in studios next to the band and had impressed them by playing a piano accompaniment to a "heavy metal." However, Dizzy injured his hand in a car crash and talks fell through. By the time his injured hand had healed the band was already on their way.

In April 1990, while GN'R was taking a break from touring and working on a new album, Dizzy called Axl and explained that he would soon be evicted from his apartment and there would be no way for Axl to get in touch with him. So Axl had GN'R's manager, Alan Niven, make Dizzy an official member of Guns N' Roses (he was signed) and give him an advance so that he could afford an apartment. This was a big step up for Dizzy because he was in an unsuccessful band called The Wild. He supported the 28-month tour with GN'R and in late 1991; he was featured on the Use Your Illusion albums. In 1993, he was also featured on the punk cover album, "The Spaghetti Incident?"

After the album and tour, Dizzy went back in the studio with Axl and Duff to work on the new GN'R album (Slash, Gilby, and Matt worked together on a project for the album). Soon, all the members left the band leaving Dizzy as the only member from the "Illusion days" along with Axl. He and Axl basically had to start over and in 1997, they began making progress on the upcoming album, Chinese Democracy. With all new members in the band, work on the album was going forward. In later 1999, he was credited as co-writer and he played on the GN'R track, "Oh My God," which was released on the End Of Days Soundtrack.

Currently, with a new, healthier look, Dizzy will be supporting the upcoming tour and has already appeared at the band's two previous shows earlier this year.
