The talented freakshow axeman, Robin Finck, was born on November 7, 1971 in New Jersey. At the age of 15, Robin, under the heavy influences of Jimi Hendrix and Jeff Beck, played guitar for a band called Prowess in Georgia. Later, that band turned into Bat Your Lashes with Robin on guitar and keyboards. Again, the group evolved to become Sik Dik. Robin then moved on to another band, The Hookers.

In 1990, Robin joined the Impotent Sea Snakes and remained with the band for about a year. In 1991, Robin found himself touring with the soon to be famous rock-industrial band Nine Inch Nails and remained with them until 1997 when he joined Guns N' Roses. Even though he has remained with NIN for a long period of time, Robin has only been featured on the 1995 NIN album, Further Down the Spiral. But while in NIN, he played guitars, keys, and violin for another project, the Sick Mutha F**kers, a Florida band that played Twisted Sister covers, from 1992 up until 1994. While in that band, he played alongside with later Marilyn Manson bassist Twiggy Ramirez.

In early 1997, Robin worked on a very interesting project called the Cirque Du Soliel Orchestra. Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses, at the time, had been wanting to produce an industrial sound, so by attaining the ability and style of Robin, it helped him connect that sound with the music of Guns N' Roses. So in 1996/1997, Robin joined Guns N' Roses and recorded tracks for the new album, Chinese Democracy. In late 1999, when Robin's contract with GN'R expired, he left to join NIN for their Fragility V2.0 Tour. Also in later 1999, he was featured on the GN'R track, "Oh My God," which was released on the End Of Days Soundtrack.

Even though Robin still remains a free agent, he came back to tour with Guns N' Roses. At Rock In Rio 3, fans honored him for his performance of the Brazilian Tim Maia song, "Sossego." Robin has confirmed that he will support the Chinese Democracy tour, sharing lead guitars with another onstage freakshow-virtuoso, Buckethead.
